Ministry Plan

 

Our calling to Hungary is to present the love of God around us in different ways. The plan is a three prong approach: starting a kid’s ministry, traveling to churches and helping people. We are so excited to see how God is opening the doors ! Why is this so important that we are in Hungary? So few people know of God’s love in Hungary, about 0.4% are Evangelical Christians compared to the U.S. having 27%.

Here is a little more info. In September we started an after school English program at a public school. This allows us an opportunity to get to know kids and their families. Through these personal relationships we can show them and tell them about the love of God. Summer comes and we'll have an English camp here where we can openly share to these kids about God.

We are also involved in ministries to orphans in our city. Selah likes to go to orphanages on Saturdays and just hang out with them.  On Sunday afternoons we have a youth group for kids at church and most of the time we bring kids from the children's home. We sing, spend time in God's Word and have time to play. Only God can give these kids hope and life eternal.

A few months ago I was on the phone with my college professor who mentioned to me that the evangelical church in Hungary is shrinking by almost 1 percent a year. This news made me really sad inside. I felt the responsibility to go around churches in Hungary and pray for people. Pray for healing, bring them encouragement that God is still at work. We have our kids involved in this area also, having them pray for people. At our church we are used to having our kids pray for different needs and we are building on this. KIDS CONNECTION is the name of the kid’s ministry at our church.  It also sums up part of our ministry in Hungary.

Our ministry goes beyond kid’s connection. That is why we named our ministry Mission Connection. We will connect with people to share God’s love and also connect resources from different countries to projects.

We have countless opportunities for ministry, more than what we can handle. We have partnered with Bethany Gateways and we are receiving College interns for 16 months at a time. This involves leading them in ministry and helping them make a difference on their internship.

We are so excited to see all that God has planned for us here. We so need your prayers and support, as we are on this crazy journey of changing this nation one person at a time.
